Indigenous nasa uss of Caquetá work hand in hand with the Unit in its repair process

For 10 years this community settled in Florencia and seeks to organize itself so as not to lose its ancestral customs and reestablish its rights.

Members of Nasa uss indigenous community participate in a community enlistment day, guided by officials of the Victims Unit in the department of Caquetá.

The Caquetá-Huila territorial director of the entity, Yhina Paola Lombana, pointed out that this activity is part of the second phase of the route of collective reparation of this indigenous community, with whom they will later proceed with the installation of prior consultation and characterization of the damages suffered in the framework of the internal armed conflict.

“It should be clarified that this day is working on the regulatory milestones that protect indigenous peoples, including those concerning Convention 169 of the (ILO), Law 1448 and especially Decree Law 4633 of 2011, which regulates the public policy for the ancestral communities in the country”, pointed out Lombana.

Additionally, it seeks the organizational strengthening of the community, the formation of the support and accompaniment group, the collective reparation route, the measures, and the main aspects to take into account in the prior consultation.

The Nasa Uss, today located in the urban area of ​​Florencia, were affected by several violent events, among these forced displacement and constant threats, which generated that for 10 years they have been located in the capital of Caqueta, seeing their customs and traditions affected.
