Alan Jara delivers donations for victims in San Jose del Guaviare
The director of the Victims Unit, Alan Jara, delivered last week some products coming from international donors, to the mayor’s office of San Jose del Guaviare, in order to be delivered to victims by the office of this municipality.
The director of the Victims Unit, Alan Jara, delivered last week some donations coming from the German Agency of Cooperation (GIZ), and the Colombian Direction of Taxes, to the mayor’s office of San Jose del Guaviare, which is in charge of giving them to the survivors of the armed conflict.
Aiming to benefit the indigenous communities Jiw and Nukak, which are in processes of Collective Reparation with the Unit, Jara took 9 water filters, 12 bunk beds of three places and other 12 of two places, two chainsaws, one element to exterminate insects, one mowing machine and a water pump.
In the same visit, Jara and the director of the Unit in the Meta department, Carlos Pardo, met with more than 200 affected by the armed conflict, aiming to listen to their inquiries.
In a press conference, they also assured that the Unit would need to strengthen in the region and in the period after finishing the armed conflict.
Jara also met with victims of forced disappearance, who insisted in their need to know the truth about what happened with their beloved ones. For them, it is more important than an economic compensation, they said.
