Victims’ Participation Table of Norte de Santander acknowledges service improvement in the Regional Center of Cúcuta
During the plenary held in the border area, representatives of the victims highlighted the efforts made by the Unit to improve the service.
The Victims’ Participation Table of Norte de Santander graded the improvements as something positive within the system implemented by the Victims Unit in the Regional Center of Cúcuta.
Luis Alberto Durán, representative of the Table, expressed his satisfaction for the actions that the Victims Unit has been taking, in virtual, face-to-face and telephone matters to answer the doubts, concerns in the processes and procedures of the survivors of armed conflict in a manner Agile and timely.
“The objective has been very good because the Unit has advanced in the area of assistance and care in the Regional Center with a new dynamic in the articulation with the leaders of the victims and institutions, in addition, the territorial director, Alicia Rojas, has done a very good job, it has been very humanitarian and we hope this continues like this”, said Duran.
During the plenary held in Cúcuta by the representatives of the Victim Participation Board of Norte de Santander, the Unit presented and socialized the new mechanisms and tools put at the service of users to assist them in an agile and safe way through the room system Virtual and telephone.
In addition, the balance of the system of reparation and compensation that the territorial has made since its creation with the victims of violence in this department of the east of the country was presented. The director of the Victims Unit in Norte de Santander and Arauca, Alicia María Rojas Pérez, said that as of 2019, the entity has delivered $ 152,824,125,807 in compensation.
“We continue working with a professional and human team willing to strengthen the system of care for victims of the department that continue to increase in numbers, we have managed to end the long lines that were registered in the Regional Center and acts of corruption as sale of quotas on the outskirts of the headquarters. We provide prioritized care for elderly, disabled and pregnant women”.
At the meeting, the spokesmen of the survivors of armed conflict raised and resolved some concerns related to the process of reparation and delivery of humanitarian aid. In the plenary also participated a commission of the JEP (Special Justice for Peace), Land Restitution Unit and the Department of Social Prosperity, among other entities.
