The Board of Victims of Boyacá was chosen and installed

17 new representatives arrived at the Departmental Participation Board and six of its 23 members were re-elected.

In a day with active participation of victims and in which the cordiality reigned, the 23 members of the Board of Effective Participation of Victims, of the department of Boyacá, were chosen for the period 2019-2021.

In the exercise as technical secretariat, the Ombudsman's Office, accompanied, advised and served as guarantor of the democratic process that had a call for 450 voters, who came to the Boyacá school, in Tunja Plaza de Bolívar, to exercise their right to suffrage and elect representatives before the Bureau.

The regional defender of the people Mauricio Reyes Camargo, acknowledged the accompaniment of the Victims Unit, the Government of Boyacá, the National Registry, the Police and the Attorney General's Office; entities that allowed the success of the day "we are satisfied, since there was no problem and everything was done within an excellent performance", said Reyes Camargo.

As coordinator of the Bureau, Nelly González de Rodríguez was appointed, who said it was a participatory and inclusive election, in which 17 of the 23 members were renewed and there was also representativeness of all the victimizing approaches and facts: “The purpose fundamental of the Table will be to work collectively, to work for the entire victim population, so that this table is influential and inclusive”.

She added that they will be very aware of the election of the National Board on November 7 in Paipa, where they will have nine delegates.

Those elected are nominated by Victim Organizations, and now as members of the Bureau, they are obliged to represent all the victims present in the department; In the specific case of Boyacá, there are 35,098 victims registered in the RUV in the 123 municipalities of the department.
