Materials for social infrastructure received victims from Marquetalia (Caldas)
The Victims Unit delivered a special accompaniment scheme that will benefit returnee families in this municipality with the construction of a communal hut in San Cayetano neighborhood.
The Victims Unit, through the Returns and Relocations process, delivered materials to make the construction of community social infrastructure a reality, in the town of Marquetalia, with the materialization of the communal booth in San Cayetano, in order to give compliance with the actions established in the Plan of Returns and Relocations of the territory.
This process of delivery of materials serves as a guarantee of permanence of the returned community, improving social, cultural, educational, and environmental conditions through support for social and community infrastructure projects, benefiting families who are victims of forced displacement in the municipality, according to reported Laura Moreno, territorial director of the entity and who led the delivery together with the Secretary General and Government, Edwin Leandro Arboleda.
“This is a demonstration of teamwork, the local Administration thought about important things for the victim community, they carried out the project formulation process as it should be and today they are receiving the necessary materials for the construction of the booth. This type of work is essential to have a meeting place for leaders and their families, improving the quality of life of victims in Marquetalia”, said Laura Moreno.
The delivery contains among other materials: steel, wire, cement, sand, gravel, cable, slats, tiles, tile, dishwasher, taps, doors, screens, paint, mortars, pipes, rods, windows, sanitary batteries, etc., with an investment close to $ 50 million pesos.
The Secretary of Government, Edwin Arboleda, spoke about the delivery: “Today we are receiving the materials for the construction of a communal hut in San Cayetano neighborhood, something that will undoubtedly improve the living conditions of the returned victim families, there are around 250 families who will benefit from this project, an infinite thanks to the Victims Unit and we hope to continue working as a team”.
For his part, Germán González, coordinator of the Municipal Table of Victims, said: “I can only have words of gratitude to the Victims Unit for the great contribution they make today for the victims of the municipality, this will help us a lot to the residents of San Cayetano neighborhood, a place where we will be able to hold meetings, trainings so that people form leaderships and be able to strengthen ourselves as a community, God pays them and they keep bringing projects”.
The municipal mayor's office undertakes to supervise the materialization of the work that is planned to be completed in six months from the date of delivery of the materials. In the same way, a monthly report on the progress in the execution of the project will be sent to the Sub directorate of Prevention and Attention to Emergencies of the Unit, while the community undertakes to make adequate use of the spaces provided.
