The Unit delivered more than $ 950 million in compensation in Villavicencio, in October
In the last month, the Unit made financial repairs to people over 74 years of age or who have an orphan, ruinous, catastrophic or high-cost disease or who have a disability.
Nearly 100 letters of compensation for an approximate value of 963 million pesos were delivered in October by Meta Territorial of the Victims Unit to people affected by the armed conflict living in Villavicencio.
The compensation is delivered by the entity as a measure of Comprehensive Reparation provided by the Colombian State, as financial compensation for the acts of victimization suffered in the framework of armed conflict and seeks to help in the strengthening or reconstruction of the life project of victims.
The beneficiaries with the compensation were people over 74 years of age or who have an orphan, ruinous, catastrophic or high-cost disease or who have a disability, as stipulated in Resolution 1049 of 2015.
One of the people who received the compensation was José Daniel Asprilla, who had a barbershop before the pandemic and who, due to the economic downturn, plans to invest his money in the reopening of this site that gives him income to meet his basic needs and practice athletics, with which he intends to fulfill his dream: go to the National and Paranational Sports Games, to be held in 2023.
For his part, Carlos Arturo Pardo Alezones, Meta and Llanos director of the Victims Unit, recalled that all procedures before the entity are completely free and do not require intermediaries. "I call on the victims not to be swindled by unscrupulous people who make false promises in order to seize the economic resources that, by law, the victims of armed conflict are entitled", he said.
