Mohán, the rural district of Suratá that already has its own health post
The Victims Unit and the Municipal Mayor's Office of Suratá, Santander, delivered biomedical equipment to the health post in the Mohán rural district. They also delivered materials that will be used for the construction of a sports center for the district.
Thanks to the collective reparation actions implemented by the Victims Unit in the department of Santander, the population of the Mohán rural district, Suratá municipality, today has a health post equipped for primary care of victims of conflict.
The Mohán health post, which had a complete infrastructure improvement, has enough biomedical equipment to serve the population of the Mohán rural district, one of the sectors of Suratá most affected by the armed conflict in past decades. The municipal mayor, the Ombudsman and delegates from the Attorney General's Office and the National Army participated in the ceremony.
"We are very grateful to the Victims Unit for not forgetting this area of the municipality, this health post and the sports center that they are helping us build is a source of pride for all of us". Said Fernando Bautista, leader of the district and victim of the conflict.
The delivery of these structural improvements and maintenance, accompanied by construction equipment and materials, are part of the collective reparation process that the Unit carries out in Suratá and other municipalities of Santander, which seek to guarantee the rights of the victim population in the department. "This is a sign of the commitment of the Victims Unit with the people who are our reason for being", said Gonzalo García, territorial director.
The municipal mayor's office praised the work of the Unit in Suratá and the multiple efforts that the entity has made to provide a better quality of life to the victim population of the municipality. "From my heart I want to thank the Unit for their support, for their collaboration with the most remote townships that were hit by violence", said Ana Coronado, mayor of Suratá.
Among the commitments of the day was, among others, to continue the adaptation of the sports center and to hire the nurse who will be permanently at the service of the population. All this with joint work between the Unit for Victims and the municipal mayor's office, added to the supervision of the control entities.
