Victims Unit participated in an early warning follow-up meeting for Canelos rural district (Santa Rosa del Sur)
This space brings together other entities such as the Ministry of the Interior, the Ombudsman's Office, the National Army, the National Police, the National Protection Unit, the Secretary of the Interior of the Government of Bolívar and the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation.
The Intersectoral Commission for Rapid Response to Early Alerts (CIPRAT) met virtually in order to carry out the second follow-up to the recommendations of Early Warning 012-19 for the village of La Fortuna, Canelos district, jurisdiction of the municipality of Santa Rosa del Sur (Bolívar), and the actions carried out by the Magdalena Medio territorial unit of the Victims Unit.
The meeting was attended by the Technical Secretariat of Ciprat, chaired by the Ministry of the Interior, the Ombudsman's Office, the National Army, the National Police, the National Protection Unit, the Interior Secretariat of the Government of Bolívar and the Attorney General's Office of the nation.
For Amparo Chicué Cristancho, director of the Unit for Victims in Magdalena Medio, “during the meeting the different entities announced their progress on the recommendations issued by the Early Warning System of the Ombudsman's Office. that allow the mitigation of the risks warned and in compliance with the prevention and alert system for rapid reaction to risks and threats to the rights to life, integrity, liberty and personal safety, civil and political liberties, and infractions to the IHL and risks and threats due to the presence of organizations, and criminal behavior”.
“The Victims Unit highlights the accompaniment and technical assistance to the construction of the contingency plan and each of its routes to prevent the recruitment and use of boys and girls, human rights defenders; implementation of the prevention policy (Decree 1434 of 2018) in what has to do with technical assistance to the creation of the immediate action team and of course to the implementation of the Ciprat space in this town; likewise, the enlistment activities for the care of massive humanitarian emergencies and the offer of the subsidiary support process for the delivery of immediate humanitarian aid”, added the official.
In this space, the entity also made known the actions carried out in relation to the community approaches carried out by the group of returns and relocations in the rural communities of this municipality, located in the southern sub-region of Bolívar.
