This district, located in the foothills of the San Lucas mountain range, was notified as a subject of collective reparation by the Victims Unit on October 2, 2018.

In recent days, the Victims Unit carried out the first and second days of community enlistment with the Subject of Collective Reparation of the Micoahumado district, municipality of Morales (Bolívar).

The day was attended by 20 members of Micoahumado community, as well as the Mayor of Morales, Neguib Eslait Barrios and the Secretaries of Development and Government, as well as the municipal liaison for victims and the Ombudsman Melissa Cáceres.

According to Amparo Chicué Cristancho, Magdalena Medio territorial director of the Victims Unit, “it was a very productive day because issues such as historical and normative antecedents prior to the issuance of Law 1448 of 2011 or the Victims and Land Restitution Law were analyzed, functioning of the Colombian State from the branches of public power and the competence of the judicial, control and administrative institutions”.

Likewise, the official added that issues such as the right to reparation and access to and guarantee of social, economic, cultural and political rights and the operation of the collective reparation program were addressed, as well as the general differences between individual and collective reparation.

For their part, the community leaders who participated in the activity expressed that they hope that collective reparation will be one more source to "continue building the dream that they so yearn to be a healthy and united community", where everyone identifies and recognizes themselves as part important of that territory and that they be seen as an agricultural pantry and as a dreaming community that, through collective actions, allows them to recover their social network that was fractured by the war.

The day was also used by the Victims Unit to deliver 97 food kits for that community that is located in the foothills of San Lucas mountain range.
