The Unit continues to provide advice and support to the municipal Administration of Ábrego
On February 4, more than 150 people were forced to abandon their residence in the rural area of Ábrego municipality, towards the municipality of Bucarasica, due to the presence of illegal groups.
In the framework of the Transitional Justice Committee held in Bucarasica this Monday, the authorities concluded that the emergency ended with the voluntary return to their homes of the affected families.
During the meeting, the municipal authorities, departmental with the presence of the Victims Unit, verified the care components provided by the municipal Administration.
The territorial director of the Victims Unit in Norte de Santander and Arauca, Alicia María Rojas Pérez, indicated that the Unit has remained aware of the emergency, coordinating actions with territorial entities to guarantee the assistance of the civilian population.
"We are making a presence to coordinate with the State institutions the route of attention by components to this affected population and which continues to increase in our rural population", said the official.
And he added that “in coordination with the territorial entities, we are working to continue with the implementation of the public policy of victims assumed by the administrations through their development plans and in accordance so that the new mayors guarantee in their plans and programs of government a timely assistance in the face of these eventualities”.
On March 13 a Subcommittee on Prevention, Protection and Guarantees of Non-Repetition will be held to update the contingency plan in this municipality.
