Unit participates in humanitarian mission and shock plan in Bojayá
Together with several entities of the national, regional and international cooperation order, the plan that aims to strengthen the response capacity of territorial entities of the department, given the emergency situation in the municipality of Bojayá, was finalized.
Since last Monday, February 24, the strategy called “Chocó Department Shock Plan” has been developed, led by the National Subcommittee on Prevention, Protection and Guarantees of Non-Repetition, in which the Victims Unit accompanies and actively participates with orientation days on issues related to humanitarian aid and news on the single registry of victims, to monitor the risk situation of the townships and villages affected by situations of displacement and confinement that were re-registered the previous year and the beginning of this year.
The visit will end with the holding of the Territorial Committee of Transitional Justice, in which the institutions come together, headed by the municipal administration, the members of the committee, the public force and leaders of affected communities. The objective is to guarantee the adequate and timely attention of the population according to their needs.
The territorial director Chocó of the Victims Unit, Vanessa Palacios, presented what concerns the contingency plan, its phases and its implementation, aimed at officials of the municipal administration so that they have clarity on what to do and how to do it when emergencies arise and they must activate said plan.
The entities belonging to the SNARIV show their commitment to the territorial entity and its people to offer all the assistance, support and strengthening, taking into account the alert that is maintained about Bojayá.
