Displaced families in Pitalito and Garzón will benefit from the Families on their Land program
480 families who are victims of forced displacement in Pitalito and Garzón Huila will benefit from Families on their Land program.

During the second Social Inclusion Sectoral Committee developed in the department of Huila and in which participated, the Victims Unit, Social Prosperity, the Colombian Family Welfare Institute, the Equity Secretariat of the Mayor's Office of Neiva and as invited entities, SENA and the Rural Development Agency; the arrival of the Families on their Land (FES) program belonging to the Social Prosperity Department was socialized, whose implementation will be carried out with the support of the Victims Unit in the process of identification or targeting of beneficiaries.
The program is aimed exclusively at displacement victims residing in the rural area of Pitalito and Garzón who are part of the RUV Victim Single Registry and, in turn, participate in a Return or Relocation Plan for the Victims Unit.
Duverley Ramírez, director in charge of Social Prosperity in Huila, said that "this is a program aimed at the population victim of conflict whose victimizing act is forced displacement and who is in the process of returning, whether accompanied or unaccompanied returns. The initial input that we use is the Return Plan that the Victim Unit builds with the municipalities where we are going to act".
Families on their Land aims to contribute to the social inclusion of vulnerable rural households and to the social integration of communities in the countryside, promoting food and nutrition security, and strengthening human and social capital for overcoming poverty.
The FES program, which will have technical and social support, capitalization and conditioned incentives, reaches the department of Huila for the first time, but it is the seventh phase of national implementation.
From the Victims Unit, this plan is articulated through the area of Returns and Relocations with the purpose of creating the means for an optimal implementation of it and providing the victims with resources and support that allow them to build sustainable projects to overcome the condition of poverty.
