In support of 1,100 families who bet on a new beginning from their territory after four years of forced displacement, the Victims' Unit approved the Return Plan for Renacer Negro Community Council and the indigenous community of Las Peñas, in Timbiquí ( Cauca), through its Return and Relocation Program, and in joint work with entities of the National System of Attention and Integral Reparation to Snariv Victims.

Through an analysis of socioeconomic situation of the households, as well as areas to be returned, the contributions and aid required were determined, according to the needs evidenced by the communities.

The results were given after the census made to the population that voluntarily wanted to return, thus yielding a diagnosis for 3,030 people, identifying the basic minimum needs such as health care, education, housing, food, psychosocial care, identification, family reunification and occupational orientation, to 100% of returned households or communities.

For Dan Harry Sanchez Cobo, territorial director of the Victims Unit, "the process allows to consolidate a new life plan for these families, offering from the institutionality a comprehensive attention that will allow them to consolidate in their territories, important issues as they are the productive projects focused on their beliefs, uses and customs, as well as education, health, housing and, of course, the psychosocial support to be able to overcome any backwardness of the violent events they were able to undergo".

Arturo Barqueño Puama, the governor of indigenous community council of Las Peñas community, is "a very important advance, since we can return to our territories with the support of entities such as the Victims' Unit that has taken into account our needs".

Within the framework of the Transitional Justice Committee, the 2019 Contingency Plan and the Territorial Action Plan were also socialized and approved by the municipal authorities, which will allow the municipality to respond to any humanitarian emergency that may occur.
