Victims Unit accompanies REDEPAZ activities of the Week for Peace
The Victims Unit supports REDEPAZ, an organization in the process of collective reparations, who on Friday presented the program of the Week for Peace in the city of Medellin.
Restoring the social fabric, the economic and social infrastructure of communities or groups may be part of the process of collective reparations in Colombia. The Victims Unit is in charge of doing it in collaboration with other entities responsible for the public policy of victims.
As part of this process, the Unit supports Redepaz, an organization in the process of collective reparations, who on Friday presented the program of the Week for Peace in the city of Medellin.
“Redepaz is a civil society organization that has a presence throughout the national territory and for many years has promoted the healthy coexistence and peace in all the municipalities of Antioquia,” explains Jorge Mario Alzate, Victims Unit’s regional director in Antioquia department.
Alzate said that in the most critical moments of the conflict, they were threatened by armed groups, so the Week for Peace is a way to vindicate their actions in the territory. More than 340 groups and communities are currently in the process of collective reparations in Colombia.
