Unit for Victims accompanied families during delivery remains in Pasto
The event was held at the St. Ignatius Retreat House of Nariño capital.
Remains of 12 victims of homicide and forced disappearance of different municipalities of Nariño, occurred in the context of the armed conflict, were returned to their families.
"My brother disappeared nearly eight years ago while travelling from Llorente to Pasto. Today, after having suffered, with my parents and siblings, we can finally bury him. This comforts us a bit and we are very grateful to the Prosecution Office and the Victims Unit to collaborate with us in the delivery of the body of my brother," said a woman called Carmen.
Viviana Ferro, vice director of the Unit for the Victims, said that "we are here in Pasto, accompanying these families in the delivery of remains of their loved ones. We have spent two days working with these families to provide psychosocial support, guidance on each case and also supporting with funeral assistance referred to relocation expenses, food and lodging for family," Ferro said.
