Gavira said that ‘22 years ago this community experienced the victimization the neighbors suffered the most. Those 35 people who lost their life would be proud of the path you chose to rebuild your community, to persist in this project of having a decent life for you and your families.’

Gaviria also said that ‘we will continue to work with you in order to follow this journey and keep on implementing this process of collective reparations.’ The ceremony ended with a symbolic event, with more than 200 white balloons, to remind everyone of the need of peace building in the country.
