The Victims Unit deliver items for the Turbo Human Rights Observatory
This delivery takes place within the framework of the commemoration of Human Rights Day, which will be the first observatory of its kind in the Urabá sub-region of Antioquia.
In the facilities of the former Mayor's Office of the Turbo district, the technical assistance and delivery of technological elements was held for the implementation of the Observatory of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law, RODHI and POSI.
The Victims Unit, within the framework of the National Technical Subcommittee on Information Systems and with the support of the Durable Solutions for Peace project, which includes the KOICA Cooperator and UNHCR, has been supporting the special port district of Turbo in the creation of this observatory for human rights and peace.
This delivery is added to the virtual information gathering session that was held the previous month with the participation of different entities and organizations of the district and of the contributing entities.
Among the technological elements delivered by UNHCR in the framework of the project "Durable Solutions for Peace", there are computers, video beam, printer, projector, and elements identified within the improvement matrix of the Information System Operational Plan (POSI) necessary to make this project possible.
“This delivery signifies an advance in this project that articulates different actors and entities of the system, which will be fundamental in the generation of inputs for decision-making in matters of public policies for prevention, protection, guarantees of non-repetition, victims, human rights, security and coexistence”, explained Elizabeth Granada, territorial director of the Unit for Urabá and Darien.
Likewise, a technical assistance session was held, and the presentation of the Logical Framework matrix, by the National Technical Subcommittee of Information Systems of the Unit, with the description of the goals, indicators, among other aspects necessary for the realization of the observatory framed in the project “Durable solutions for peace”, in which the Cooperant KOICA and the UNHCR are located, in support of the special port district of Turbo.
The delivery was attended by officials from the Turbo district, public entities and cooperating organizations, including delegates of human rights, Pastoral Social and victims' organizations, and the national coordinator of the Solutions for Peace project, Edna Rocío Pulido.
This Observatory will be fundamental in generating inputs for decision-making in matters of public policies for prevention, protection, guarantees of non-repetition, victims, human rights, security and coexistence.
