Victims Unit participated in the Regional Conversation of Llanos Region

In the regional conversation held in Villavicencio, the victims of conflict had the possibility of making proposals to the government team, headed by President Iván Duque.

The director of the Victims Unit, Ramón Rodríguez, ministers and other government officials accompanied President Iván Duque to a new day of the regional conversation.

This is the third regional conversation that takes place within the framework of the Great National Conversation. The first was held in Cali on November 6 and the second, in the city of Medellín, on December 23, 2019. The Bureau is moderated by Moisés Wasserman, former rector of Universidad Nacional, and former minister Juan Luis Mejía, Rector of Eafit.

These tables were installed on November 27 by President Iván Duque, and they have heard 37 interventions from representatives of the different sectors, including the victims of conflict.

The director of the Victims Unit, Ramón Rodríguez, said that “this chapter of the regional conversation that took place in Villavicencio, was an invitation from the Ministry of Government, in coordination with the Presidency of the Republic, was a place to listen to victims and citizens in the face of the processes of attention, assistance, reparation and guarantees of non-repetition".

"As a Victims Unit we have been accompanying the president to listen to all Colombians to be able to build the peace scenarios and guarantee the rights of victims", ​​the official added.

Leonardo Cuesta, member of Cuatro Veredas Collective Repair Subject, participated in the regional conversation in Villavicencio. Cuesta, victim of conflict, highlighted these spaces in which all kinds of proposals are made: “In what has to do with the victims, it is important that we participate in the thematic tables, that is a good advance and we see it with very good eyes that the victims can advance in our objective that is the integral repair, the reconstruction of the social fabric and to recover the credibility to the State".
