German cooperation launches fourth call for VIVIR LA PAZ Fund

It is to accompany short-term projects aimed at consolidating the final peace agreement in the regions, with emphasis on protection of leaders and collective reparation processes. Proposal submission deadline: August 27.

The Presidential Agency for International Cooperation in Colombia (APC-Colombia), the German Embassy and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH are launching the fourth call of VIVIR LA PAZ Fund, to accompany short-term projects aimed at tangible realization of final peace agreement in the regions.

Created in May 2017 to support the construction of peace and crisis prevention, VIVIR LA PAZ Fund focuses on the regional and local aspects and works in two complementary fields of action: the financing of projects of civil society organizations and the development of their capabilities.

This fourth convocation is focused on the protection and self-protection of social and / or environmental leaders, and collective reparation processes, and is aimed at civil society organizations that develop their actions in Meta, Norte de Santander, Chocó, Caquetá, Nariño, Cauca and Valle del Cauca.

The budget agreed by VIVIR LA PAZ Fund for each selected project will be a maximum of 60 thousand euros ($ 168 million) and must include a counterpart that can be in kind and / or in cash. The contribution of Fund must be budgeted for a project of 5 or 6 months maximum, with startup for November 2018.

The deadline for submission of proposals is August 27 at 3 pm, Colombian time. The participation process takes place in two stages: first, a manifestation of interest that must be sent to vivirlapaz@giz.de, and then, the elaboration of project.

The results of the first stage will be communicated to each organization by email until September 24, 2018. Only the best ideas will be invited to elaborate a complete project proposal. The selection will be in charge of the Selection Committee, composed of APC-Colombia, the Embassy of Germany and the participation of GIZ.

Among the selection criteria, the innovative nature of proposal stands out, a visible relationship between the project and the contribution to consolidation of peace agreements, and that the target population of each initiative is clear.
