Spain is supporting peace and reparations in Colombia
Paula Gaviria talked to Radio Nacional de España about the cooperation between Spanish and Colombian governments in favor of the victims of the internal armed conflict.
Paula Gaviria Betancur, Victims Unit’s director, talked about the Spanish contribution to the reparation of victims of the Colombian armed conflict in an interview broadcasted Sunday by Radio Nacional de España. Gaviria thanked ‘the Spanish citizens, because they have been really supporting and believing in the peace of Colombia for many years.’
According to Gaviria, the Colombian government adopt a decision in 2011 to begin the reparation on victims. One year after, the dialogues between the Government and the FARC-EP guerrilla started in Havana (Cuba). Both parts reached an agreement on the reparation of victims last December. ‘President Santos decided that victims were at the center of the agreement, and put all the work that had already been done at the service of the agreement,’ she said.
