Victims Unit report more actions for the benefit of ethnic communities during the pandemic

The Victims Unit delivered a report on the management carried out between September 27 and October 2, in favor of the Afro and indigenous communities.

Since the national government decreed the economic emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Victims Unit has not stopped serving ethnic communities throughout the national territory.

In its most recent balance, the entity reported that, within the framework of the collective reparation program for ethnic communities in the municipalities of Montelíbano and Ayapel in the department of Córdoba, it carried out four days of characterization of the damage in the community councils settled in this municipality, The purpose of which is to determine the effects suffered by these populations during the armed conflict.

The Unit also developed the Validation and Planning session of the measures of the Comprehensive Collective Repair Plan (PIRC) of the Kisgó people, in Cauca, prioritized by Auto 266 of 2017.

Likewise, in development of the agreements established with the Participation Table for Indigenous Peoples of Bogotá, the entity led the first of three agreed spaces for the socialization of the individual compensation route and the measurement of returns and relocations, with the participation of the representatives of five of the 16 indigenous peoples settled in the Capital District.

In the same way, the Unit convened an inter-institutional articulation and coordination meeting with the Ministry of the Interior for the installation of prior consultation with the community councils of María La Baja (Bolívar), within the framework of the collective ethnic reparation route.

According to the periodic report, the Victims Unit also led the coordination meeting with the Directorate of Indigenous Affairs of the Ministry of the Interior and with the ICBF, to carry out the follow-up to the Accompaniment Plan to nine indigenous people belonging to the Reservation. Selvas del Lipa, in Arauca, relocated under the joint protection scheme in the municipality of Prado, in Tolima, according to Order 382 of 2010.

Finally, the entity reported its participation in the sessions convened by the Office of the General Attorney of the Nation to carry out the follow-up of the processes of attention, returns and relocations, SNARIV coordination and collective reparation of the department of Guaviare, and of the return processes and relocations from the Amazon region. Likewise, the Unit participated in the III Annual Session of the National Commission for Indigenous Territories.
