The Victims Unit ended its tour of Valle del Cauca on Tuesday, where it delivered 2.734 food kits, in support of families who were victims of conflict who had not received any type of help in times of the COVID-19 pandemic. The entity arrived with these packages with food to 34 of the 42 municipalities of the department and held the final sessions in Cali and Buga.
“In eastern Cali, through Asodisvalle Asociación de discapacitados del Valle, we identified the population victim of the conflict and delivered 100 kits as a contribution in this tough situation, while in Buga we had 320 families summoned who are part of a plan of returns and relocations in Ciudadela Uninorte, in the urban area”, specified the territorial director of the Unit in Valle, Luz Adriana Toro.
Jeison Aristizábal, founder of Asodisvalle, thanked the Victims Unit for the delivery of these humanitarian aid "since here we have many displaced families who at the same time have children with disabilities, so this accompaniment is important".
One of the beneficiaries was Ana Lucía Moreno, displaced from Bajo Baudo (Chocó), who has lived in Cali for two years. “This pandemic has been very hard because we are out of work. This help is a blessing for me, because we have two girls with disabilities. We are surviving” she said.
In the days of delivery of the food packages in the different municipalities, they had the support of the local mayors, the municipal tables of victims and the legal representatives, among others.
