With this agreement, the Unit seeks that the victims of conflict make an adequate investment of their compensation in housing improvement.

The Victims Unit in Santander signed a letter of understanding with Aldía Hardware Store, through which the victims of conflict in the department will be able to access discounts on the purchase of construction materials and home remodeling.

The objective of this type of agreement between the entity and private companies is that the victim population that receives their individual reparation has more options for the appropriate investment of their compensation resources.

The victims in Santander who access will be able to obtain from 3% to 40% discount on the entire line of construction materials and remodeling of facades, bathrooms, kitchen and floors offered by the aforementioned commercial establishment.

“For Aldía Hardware store it is very important to be able to link with the Victims Unit, due to the spaces for forgiveness and reconciliation that this entity has. Being able to help and advise the victims in the construction of their homes is gratifying”, said Alfonso Díaz, manager of said hardware store, a company that has been accompanying the Unit in the compensation delivery days in the metropolitan area of ​​Bucaramanga, advising the population in the investment and proper management of resources from the part of home remodeling.

“We are grateful that the private company also supports the public sector in the objective of enforcing the victims' policy by offering them more opportunities for their development. This work articulated with companies such as Aldía Hardware Store makes our work have a greater impact on the victim population”, highlighted Gonzalo García Bautista, territorial director of the Santander Unit.

The Unit in Santander will continue to achieve inter-institutional and public-private agreements so that victims have offers and opportunities in the educational, labor and social fields.
