Partnerships with the private sector for the welfare of victims
The Unit for Victims actively participates in the initiative that the Government implements in the Eje Cafetero region to facilitate victims' access to job opportunities.
The agency Volver a la Gente, the Unit for the Victims and local authorities in the Eje Cafetero region seek strategic alliances with private entrepreneurs, in order to make it easier for the victims of armed conflict that inhabit this area of the country to find a stable and decent job.
The Agency hopes to facilitate access to work for at least 300 victims in the first year of the program, inviting directly to employers to encourage the hiring of this population. The Unit for the Victims has served as a bridge of communication between the Agency and the victims.
The program was presented to employers and unions in the Risaralda department, in a ceremony attended by the Governor of the department, Sigifredo Osorio Salazar; the mayor of the city of Pereira, Juan Pablo Gallo Maya; the director of the agency Volver a la Gente, Hernando Pardo Jimenez; the territorial director of the Unit for the Victims, Omar Alonso Sanchez Toro; and the director of Acopi Centro Occidente, Hernán Hernández Galindo.
