Victims are commemorated in Cauca

Through playful activities, symbolic acts, psychological days and a meeting of the Municipal Table of Victims of Popayán, homage was paid to survivors of conflict in this department of the Colombian Southwest.

In the department of Cauca, homage was paid in the "National Day of Commemoration and Solidarity with the Victims of Armed Conflict", where symbolic acts, playful and recreational activities of healthy recreation build a path to advance reconciliation.

This is how in the municipality of Caldono, north of the department, with the participation of 150 people, the children of surviving victims became the symbol of hope and innocence of a world free of any kind of conflict. The event had a field eucharist and the intervention of representatives of entities and invited institutions, where the Cauca territorial director of the Victims Unit, Dan Harry Sanchez Cobo, said that "these spaces are a priority for the national government and allows us as a Unit to take stock of everything we have advanced as public policy regarding the victims. "

Likewise, with legal, psychological conferences developed in strategic alliance with other entities, a space of reconciliation and commemoration to the victims was offered at the Regional Center of Santander de Quilichao with the participation of 100 people.

In Popayán, the municipal board met with different officials from the Victims Unit, where all the actions planned for 2019 were presented, aimed at this population that is reborn and is positively integrated into society. For Andrés Yatacué Con, victim of armed conflict, "these spaces show that there is still a future for all of us, that there are people who still believe and bet on a Colombia without more victims".
