Municipalities in Urabá-Darién are linked to the commemoration of April 9
In the territorial this year, various activities are planned that will have a component of reconciliation and seek to honor the victims of region, which are around 400,000 survivors of armed conflict in the subregion of Urabá and Darién Apartadó, Antioquia.
In the municipalities of Apartadó and Chigorodó, different commemorative activities are planned, starting at 4:00 p.m. in the locations, Auditorium Regional Center of Attention to Apartado Víctims, and at the José de los Santos Zúñiga institution, in the case of Chigorodó.
In Apartadó, there will be a walk for the rights and the defense of life, which will culminate in the Regional Center of Attention to Victims with symbolic, artistic acts.
Likewise, in Chigorodó, different acts will be performed alluding to reconciliation and peace, through candles and cultural events that will take place after 4 pm at José de los Santos Zúñiga school.
"We will be supporting and accompanying each of these commemorations, the team always ready to highlight this day, honor the survivors for the strength they have had, and reiterate our firm commitment as territorial, in the different programs and routes that exist to access their rights, "said Elizabeth Granada Ríos, director of Urabá Darién Victims Unit.
This commemoration will also be taking place in the Chocoano municipality of Riosucio, who will resume their traditions through the typical chocoano Bunde dance that will entertain a walk, in the morning, through the main streets of town to the main park, where acts will be held symbolic, religious and Christian ethnic rituals.
It is usual that the commemorations, around April 9, extend during the month of April. In San Pedro de Urabá it will be held on the 25th and in Turbo it is planned for the 26th. In the case of San Pedro de Urabá, they will honor the memory of massacre victims that took place in the village of Alto San Juan, La Rula.
