Victims Unit participates in bilateral dialogue Colombia-Ecuador

On Thursday, the Victims Unit will participate in a binational dialogue Colombia-Ecuador that will take place in Azogues (Ecuador). Both governments will share experiences and lessons learned on the support to Colombian migrant population during the return process, and the Ecuadorian measures employed to help local integration of Colombian population who are refugees or have applied for the refugee status.

Both governments will share experiences and lessons learned on the support to Colombian migrant population during the return process, and the Ecuadorian measures employed to help local integration of Colombian population who are refugees or have applied for the refugee status.

According to Alba García Polanco, Victims Unit’s director of inter-institutional management in Colombia, ‘this is a very important opportunity to introduce the steps we have step since the Victims Law was passed in 2011, a law that for the first time in our history acknowledged victims who are outside the country.’
