Young victims, exempt from military service

The Victims Unit and the Ministry of Defense will approve a protocol that establishes aspects related to the exemption of military service, and the delivery of military documents, for victims of the internal armed conflict, as an identification and satisfaction measure included in the reparation process. The protocol is based in article 140 of the Victims and Land Restitution Law (Law 1448 of 2011).

The Victims Unit and the Ministry of Defense will approve a protocol that establishes aspects related to the exemption of military service, and the delivery of military documents, for victims of the internal armed conflict, as an identification and satisfaction measure included in the reparation process. The protocol is based in article 140 of the Victims and Land Restitution Law (Law 1448 of 2011).

At 2 p.m. on Wednesday, representatives of both entities will sign the protocol to exchange information and operation implementation of these measures. Young victims of the conflict will receive their military cards as a symbolic gesture, once the protocol is officially signed.
