More goods for collective use arrive in Bolívar, acquired with resources seized from the extinct Farc
The Victims Unit delivered a bank of machinery to the Community Council of Black Communities of Santo Madero, located in the PDET municipality of San Jacinto, Bolívar. The assets were financed with resources not inventoried by the former armed group.
A tractor with its accessories arrives in the black communities of Paraíso, a district where the Community Council is located, in compliance with a restitution measure contained in the Comprehensive Collective Repair Plan (PIRC).
The goods delivered reaffirm the commitment of the national Government and the Unit for Victims to advance in the processes of reparation and transformation of the territories, for the reactivation of the economy that was affected by the conflict.
"It is a good for collective use that strengthens the productive sector. It is important to coordinate with the system responsible for caring for the victims. This Comprehensive Plan of Santo Madero has been carried out in an accelerated and satisfactory manner. In September we were carrying out the protocolization and today we have delivered this agricultural machinery", said Miledy Galeano Paz, territorial director of the Victims Unit in Bolívar and San Andrés.
For Amilcar Rocha, representative of the community council of black communities, the good delivered is a benefit for the development of agricultural practices. "This agricultural machinery is a dream come true. For many years we have been working the land in a rustic way and now we are going to modernize to get a better profit. This has been a titanic race, we protocolized in the middle of the pandemic and we are already implementing the actions PIRC. The Bolívar Government has delivered a truck to complement this measure and the UMATA is coordinating with the municipal mayor to obtain technical advice".
The award ceremony was attended by Mario Chamié Manzillo, manager of the Stabilization of the Montes de María "It is a huge satisfaction to be able to accompany the Victims Unit in this act of collective reparation. With this type of reparations society is built, community is built. This means that the victims are being met with the country", he said.
For his part, the mayor of San Jacinto Jorge Castellar Smith celebrated the arrival of these agricultural equipment to these communities "this will improve their quality of life so that they can continue producing in the field, so that communities such as ethnic groups can continue to move forward. articulation work a teamwork with the Victims Unit and we are happy that these resources and these goods reach our rural communities", he said.
This Council is made up of 1.300 people and works hand in hand with the Unit in its Comprehensive Collective Reparation Plan. Among the actions to be implemented are the revitalization of sports and cultural practices; the implementation of a productive project with an agricultural vocation; the encounters of ancestral knowledge; the organizational strengthening of the community council; support for the redefinition of community meeting places; the payment of collective compensation, among others.
