Rice and vegetables project, the commitment of a group in Mutatá

The initiative obeys the fulfillment of a measure of the Collective Repair Plan (PIRC) of Caucheras community, located in the jurisdiction of this municipality of Urabá Antioqueño.

In the booth of the Community Action Board of the Caucheras district, in Mutatá, the Victims Unit delivered the supplies and tools for the cultivation of rice and vegetables, as a measure of implementation of the Collective Repair Plan of this community made up of 19 families.

The delivery was attended by the mayor of this municipality, María Esilda Palacios Giraldo, and the director of the Victims Unit, Elizabeth Granada Ríos, who highlighted the joint actions that are being carried out in the territory.

"The articulation that is being carried out between the territorial entity and the Victims Unit at the national level is really important for our territory, since our communities that have been victims of conflict, of violence, are being cared for, are being strengthened, are being valued, accompanied by what they really deserve, that is how we remain ready, very willing to support them and continue working in coordination for their benefit", said María Esilda Palacios Giraldo, mayor of Mutatá.

The director of the Unit in Urabá-Darién, Elizabeth Granada, indicated that "with this delivery of the rice project and the necessary inputs for the Caucheras collective reparation subject, 19 families will be benefited and nine hectares of land will be planted".

Among the items delivered, rice and tomato seeds were included, as well as supplies, fertilizers, wires, staples, and supplies required to consolidate this productive project.

For her part, Luz Adriana Sepúlveda, from the promotion committee of this group, stated that, “we are together with the entire community, the Unit and the Mayor's Office, participating in this project that will be of great help to the community, because this way they will be able to have for consumption and sell so that they can help each other and purchase products from the family basket ".

It should be remembered that through the process of collective reparation this community had received a tractor, as well as technological endowments and furniture for the communal shed, tools that have allowed the group, in addition to boosting its agricultural production and having food security, to carry out social works, support families and recover their community practices.
