Fabrics to make dreams of Cauca women
The Victims Unit delivered 650 rolls of cloth to the Cooperativa Centro Industrial Textil de Popayán, in coordination with the Department for Social Prosperity, in order tostrengthen women's social organizations in Cauca.
Within the framework of the Social Inclusion Week, the Victims Unit and the Department for Social Prosperity, articulated actions to deliver about 16 tons of cloth equivalent to 650 rolls, seeking to contribute to the strengthening of the economic activity of social organizations of women heads of households and victims of armed conflict in Cauca.
Elida Malfi Sánchez, legal representative of the Cooperativa Centro Industrial Textil of Popayán (COCETEXPA), affirmed that with this support they seek to create a network of women that can serve as support to more entrepreneurs who venture into the world of clothing. “We seek with this donation to strengthen a network that allows us to help victims and vulnerable women, to strengthen their capacities and productive projects around clothing; we want to tell him that we are going to make the best of this".
For his part, Dan Harry Sánchez Cobo, territorial director of the Victims Unit in Cauca, indicated that “this delivery fills us with great satisfaction, since with this contribution women in vulnerability and victims of conflict will be articulated in a a network that will allow them to strengthen their ventures and be managers of their own income. "In this way, as an entity we seek to generate employment and, above all, continue to contribute to the comprehensive reparation of all people affected by the conflict", he added.
It is important to emphasize that the 650 rolls of cloth were donated to the Victims Unit by the National Tax and Customs Directorate (DIAN), articulating institutional actions in favor of the country's victims.
