Mural inaugurated in honor of victims of Samaniego, in Pasto street
In the work called "For love everything, for war nothing" can be seen nine representative birds of Nariño territory. This was an inter-institutional initiative in which victims' organizations and art groups also participated.
In a joint effort between the Victims Unit, the Government of Nariño, the Mayor's Office of Pasto, victims' organizations and youth groups, a mural called “For love, everything for war, nothing” was made, located in the 19 street of the city of Pasto.
In the artistic intervention, nine representative birds of the Nariño territory were captured, as an act of symbolic reparation and as a tribute to each of the young people murdered in August in Samaniego (Nariño). In addition, this artistic space is projected as a cultural heritage of the region.
At the opening ceremony, the territorial director of the Unit, William Pinzón Fernández, reiterated the support of the Victims Unit to the families of the young people, who were present at the event.
“As the Victims Unit, we will continue to be committed to working alongside you, providing you with the accompaniment and psychosocial support with which you have been working. It is very pleasant to know that in the capital of our department we have these works of art that reflect to the public the commitment to peace, reconciliation, justice and forgiveness”, Pinzón noted.
During the delivery of the mural, the relatives of the victims of the events that occurred in Samaniego also participated in symbolic acts with candles, white roses, music and videos.
