Complying with biosecurity requirements, the Victims Unit compensated more victims from the department of Atlántico this week. A group of 100 in Soledad and 14 more in Barranquilla, were the victims of armed conflict who were beneficiaries of this new installment, which is carried out in accordance with the route established by Resolution 1049 of 2019, which prioritizes payments to the elderly 74 years old, disabled or with some catastrophic or ruinous illness.

The first delivery was made on Wednesday from the Regional Center for Attention to Victims of Soledad, and La Segunda, from the Atlantic Territorial Headquarters of the Victims Unit in Barranquilla, where the deputy director of Registration and Assessment of the entity, Guillermo Plata, was present to participate and formally deliver the administrative payment.

The manager also read the letter of dignity to the victims, in which excuses are expressed on behalf of the Colombian State, for suffering the events that occurred within the framework of the country's internal armed conflict.

“With you there are already 1.765 people that the entity has managed to compensate administratively in Atlántico since the state of emergency was decreed due to Covid-19. This translates into an investment to repair the victims that exceeds $ 14 billion”, expressed Alfredo Palencia, territorial director of the Unit in Atlántico.

The 14 letters delivered in Barranquilla by money together with the territorial director represent a sum of 63 million pesos, with which they seek to compensate and help the victims rebuild their life projects or overcome their situation of vulnerability.

Likewise, the territorial director reiterated that all the procedures before the Unit are free and do not obey any affiliation or efforts of intermediaries and that, in future deliveries, the Unit will initiate the payment of those victims who are in general route through a technical prioritization method.
