More than 8.200 victims have received compensation through the general route in September

The payment of this measure was more than 86.000 million pesos and victims over 74 years of age, minors and nationals residing abroad benefited.

During the day of the "Great dialogue with victims in times of COVID-19" that took place last July, the director of the Victims Unit, Ramón Rodríguez, had announced that in the second half of 2020 the entity would begin to compensate the victims of conflict through the general route. The official reported Monday that such payments have already begun.

"One of the needs raised in the meeting with the departmental tables is to advance in the general route and before the end of this term, some resources were allocated, not only for those three criteria that are in resolution 1049, but also to be able to advance on the general route”, explained Rodríguez.

At the public accountability hearing held on September 21, the director revealed that 86.000 million pesos have been paid to date, benefiting 8.232 victims. "In the month of September, the payment of compensation began through the general route, the victims benefited were established through prioritization criteria using the method available to the entity".

Ramón Rodríguez explained that of the more than 8.000 compensation "6.000 were delivered for older people, approximately 1.600 for minors, and compensation was also made to victims residing abroad, these were the prioritization criteria that were have in this method”.

According to the manager, at the end of this year, the entity will determine through the technical method who will be the victims that will receive compensation in the term of 2021 by the general route.
