In order to contribute to the care of girls, boys, adolescents, young people and community leaders, the Victims Unit and the PLAN Foundation, with funding from the Government of Canada, began in July 2020, the delivery of 9.900 grants to families who are victims of armed conflict in the municipalities of Buenaventura, Quibdó and Tumaco.

These aids, represented in food vouchers and hygiene kits, will allow beneficiaries of the "Leading for Peace Program" to access elements to preserve their health and nutrition, strengthening compliance with biosecurity protocols for the prevention of contagion of COVID-19. The planned investment exceeds $ 600.000.000 and benefits more than 18.000 people in the three municipalities.

The alliance of the Unit and the PLAN Foundation continues to develop the actions planned to strengthen comprehensive care for families who are victims of violence, create environments of protection and care, strengthen the participation of girls and boys and promote the economic empowerment of the participants.

The victims thanked the aid given: "I am infinitely grateful for the unconditional support with my daughter and her family in these times of global crisis, any support is very helpful", said Zoraida Hinestroza, one of the beneficiaries.

Rosa Cortés, also a victim of conflict, affirmed that the elements received "are very helpful for people like me who, at 60 years old, no longer give us work anywhere".

The “Leading for Peace” program has benefited more than 78.000 victims of the conflict, especially boys, girls, adolescents and young victims of the conflict in the departments of Chocó, Nariño and Valle del Cauca.
