At the invitation of the Municipal Council of Apía, Risaralda, the entity presented aspects such as individual reparation through compensation, attention days, humanitarian aid, return and relocation processes, among others.

Laura Moreno, territorial director of the Victims Unit in the Coffee Region and her work team, advanced a complete report of the exercise carried out by the entity in favor of the victim population that lives in the municipality of Apía, thanks to the invitation of the Municipal council of the town through the councilor Héctor Fabio Hoyos.

“A thousand thanks to the officials of the Unit for attending to this invitation from the Council, in general we want to know how the work of the Unit in Apía has been progressing, of course to know the scope of the benefits to which the victims have had access. they live here and know how different plans and actions are being carried out in terms of returns and relocations in harmony with the municipal administration” said Councilor Hoyos, speaker of this initiative.

The councilors had the opportunity to find out first-hand about aspects such as individual reparation through compensation, attention days, humanitarian aid, return and relocation processes, assistance and attention to the citizen, housing improvements, generalities of Law 1448, among others.

“In this meeting, in addition to solving doubts, we had the opportunity to advise and assist the councilors in relation to the implementation of the public policy of victims in Apía, and we made reference to the processes that we carry out in the territory; The Unit has been carrying out coordinated work with the administration in the territory, we are aware that it has been difficult to reach the population directly due to the issue of the pandemic, but we have tried to use all possible strategies to continue meeting the needs of the population”, argued Laura Moreno.

In the municipality of Apía, 1.919 people are subject to care by the Victims Unit and so far and according to the statistical figures of the National Information Network, the entity has made 859 administrative compensation for the individual administrative reparation of the population, which amounts to an investment of $ 5.589 million pesos.

"It is very important for us to be able to find out first-hand what the victims' processes are going on in the municipality, all concerns are resolved and we hope to continue in close contact with you as a Unit to follow up on future actions, since this issue of victims is a priority issue for the Apía Council", concluded the president of the corporation José Rivera.

Regarding the humanitarian assistance aspect, the Unit has so far made a total of 2.347 transfers worth $ 1.360 million pesos, only so far in 2020 aid has been issued for 197 victims, with an investment of $ 117 million of pesos.
