Within the framework of the Departmental Subcommittee on Assistance and Care, led by the Under secretariat for Peace and Human Rights of the Government of Nariño and the Victims Unit, which was carried out virtually with the participation of the municipal mayors, officials, of Olaya Herrera, Roberto Payán, and Magüí Payán and the accompaniment of the Public Ministry, established commitments in order to provide care to families displaced by the armed conflict in these municipalities.

The Victims Unit will assist, in subsidiarity with the Mayor's Office of Magüí and in complementarity with the Government of Nariño, the families that were affected by confrontations of illegal armed groups last June.

According to William Pinzón Fernández, director of the Victims Unit in Nariño, “it is very important to look for joint solutions in this space with the aim of moving towards that attention and humanitarian aid that families need after they have unfortunately had to move, for therefore, we are as a Unit to support the municipal and departmental entity, for together, fulfilling the respective responsibilities, we come and fulfill our objective: to be united with the victims”.

For their part, in order to carry out the process of care for displaced families from the district of Fátima, the municipal mayors of Roberto Payán and Olaya Herrera, will carry out the census of the affected population, once this information has been collected, the process will be carried out of articulation between entities to provide assistance and attention to victims.

José Amílcar Pantoja, Undersecretary of Peace and Human Rights highlighted the importance of coordination to serve the victim population of the department. In this space, in addition, a review of progress was made in other vital components for victims such as health, safety and education. The municipal mayors will be responsible for carrying out logistical support to enter the territory and make the respective deliveries.
