Youth project their future with the Victims Unit
The Victims Unit works with young people and adolescents, in a psychosocial strategy with a restorative sense, in Santander.
Javier * is 17 years old and resides in Bucaramanga, a year ago he started playing the accordion on his own and as he develops his school work, he dedicates himself to carrying out serenades and giving concerts in the municipalities of Simacota and Vetas (Santander) and towns. neighbors of the south of Bolívar.
For a week, this young music lover has participated in Proyectandonos strategy, directed by the Victims Unit, which aims to strengthen the empowerment of young people and adolescents, affected by the conflict in the recognition of their rights as subjects of special protection, and that are included in the Single Registry of Victims.
Young people from Bucaramanga, Piedecuesta and Floridablanca have participated in this pilot test, which includes four virtual meetings, related to the recognition of the past, the present and the projection of their future.
“I dream of becoming famous with music, but first, after graduating from university, I want to study civil engineering; what I liked most about the activity is having in mind what I want to do with my future”, said Javier.
The strategy aims at building a reparative and transforming sense of the compensation resources, towards the materialization of the dreams that these young survivors of armed conflict have, in route to being financially repaired by the Unit.
