The Unit has delivered $13.561 million in compensation since the Victims Law is in force, in Buga
A new special letter delivery day was held in this city in the center of the Valle department.
In the city of Buga, Valle del Cauca, the Victims Unit carried out a special day for delivering compensation letters, for which it implemented a strict biosecurity protocol in order to avoid risks for the beneficiaries, who were in mostly adults older than 74 years.
On this occasion, 50 letters were delivered, for $588 million, a figure that adds to the $13.561 million that the entity has delivered in "Ciudad Señora" since the Victims Law (Law 1448 of 2011) is in force, which has arrived at the hands of 1,880 people.
“We are making progress in delivering compensation letters, which is one of the measures of comprehensive reparation, with some specific workshops such as this one in Buga and the ones recently held in Cali and Tuluá. However, the Unit will rely on the bankarization strategy with Banco Agrario so that from now on the victims who are going to receive their monies for compensation can have them directly in an account", said Luz Adriana Toro, territorial director of the Unit in Valle.
In Buga it is estimated that 8.9% of the population is victim of conflict, that is, about 11.448 people.
