More than 400 victims have received their compensation in the territorial Urabá-Darién, during the pandemic
The Victims Unit in this area of the country continues to provide care and reparation to the survivors of conflict.
In development of the commitments acquired by the national Government, in the context of the health emergency that Colombia and the world are experiencing, in the Urabá Antioquia and Darien chocoano, the Victims has compensated 430 survivors worth $ 2.2 billion.
The deliveries made through inter-institutional inclusion strategies to the banking system, among others, and in accordance with the protocols and preventive measures defined by the health authorities, have allowed victims residing in the 14 municipalities of this region to receive compensation in compliance with prioritization requirements.
“We have been complying with these deliveries with due care for both the victims and our professionals, to deliver the victims their compensation, humanitarian aid and other services to which they are entitled. These resources are a great relief in these critical circumstances that are being faced”, said Elizabeth Granada Ríos, director of Urabá-Darién territorial unit.
"We are going to fix the roof of the house to prevent that the wáter enters into, to buy other things that are needed for the boy, that he has a good place to sleep", said the father and companion of * Álvaro Cuello, a young victim with disability that supports his father and aunt working as a recycler in Apartadó.
Since the guidelines of the national government were given for the speeding up and advancement of humanitarian care payments and the delivery of compensation programmed in force, the Unit has not stopped in this process, implementing the extension of deadlines in the collection of payments, among other measures.
In this territory, so far in 2020 the Victims Unit has delivered 3.125 compensation and 18.688 money orders for Humanitarian Attention.
Granada Ríos, reiterated that all the procedures before the Victims Unit are free and that they do not require intermediaries or processors, he also asked them to request at the time of receiving any payment the respective detachments, in the case of humanitarian aid verify the amount delivered, at authorized points.
