Through the Government's initiative, victims of Suárez and Piendamó will have access to rural development projects
The Unit socialized a call from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for survivors of armed conflict in these targeted municipalities of Cauca.
The Cauca territorial Victims Unit, in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Territory Renewal Agency, summoned members of the tables of Effective Participation of Victims, representatives and municipal liaisons of the municipalities of Suárez and Piendamó, to the Socialization of the project "Building Rural Business Capacities, Trust and Opportunity - The Emprende field", which seeks to improve the living conditions and income generation of the victim population in these territories.
The initiative aims to improve living conditions, income and employment of rural families who are in a situation of extreme poverty, through the co-financing of "Business Plans", which must be carried out associatively in rural territories to promote comprehensive rural development with equity.
In this regard, Dan Harry Sánchez Cobo, Cauca territorial director of the Victims Unit, stated that these institutional articulations allow the population affected by the armed conflict in the department to be reached more clearly and that “thanks to the National System of Comprehensive Attention and Reparation to Victims (SNARIV), it is possible to leverage projects and focus on the population that can access these calls presented from different entities”.
This is a project financed by the Government of Colombia, with resources from the National Budget and credit from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
The rural population victims of the municipalities of Suárez and Piendamó, interested in participating in this call, should contact the website www.minagricultura.gov.co for more information.
