Actions for victims in PDET municipalities in Tolima are consolidated
There are 28 initiatives to be implemented by the Victims Unit in four municipalities prioritized with the program, which seeks the structural transformation of the regions most affected by the armed conflict
In development of the promotion table of Pillar 8 (Reconciliation, Coexistence and Peace), of the Development Programs with a Territorial Focus (PDET) for the southern subregion of Tolima, which includes the municipalities of Ataco, Chaparral, Rioblanco and Planadas, the Victims Unit presented the work plan and explained the methodology for complying with the 28 initiatives related to its mission.
In accordance with what was stated by María José Dangond David, director of the Central Territorial Unit, in charge of the presentation, for this process the entity has strategies that are part of programs such as “strengthening the participation tables; collective reparation strategies; processes of characterization of the victim population; days of assistance and attention in the territory; community and social infrastructure projects; coordination of the entities of the National System for Comprehensive Attention and Reparation to Victims (SNARIV); return and relocation processes, and psychosocial intervention strategies spinning and weaving”.
In these four municipalities, with a cut as of April 30, 2020, there is a victim population of 28.886 people, which according to the official record corresponds to about 20% of the total of the survivors of conflict subject to care who are in the department of Tolima.
"They are precisely those who will benefit from the implementation of these programs and who the Unit has already been attending to through various missionary processes, but who will be further strengthened with the execution of the PDETs, projected for the next 10 years and where Additionally, we are going to work on the implementation of other initiatives, such as the projects by offer that have also been socialized in previous days”, added the territorial director of the Unit.
The PDETs are built in 170 municipalities that were prioritized for being the territories most affected by the armed conflict, with higher poverty rates, the presence of illicit economies and institutional weakness.
