Unit evaluated actions against early warning, in Urabá

Early Warning 008 of 2020, raised by the Office of the Ombudsman, is related to situations of risk of violation of human rights and international humanitarian law in the municipalities of Apartadó, Carepa, Chigorodó and Turbo, in Antioquia.

In the Auditorium of Urabá Police Department, the session of the Intersectoral Monitoring Commission for the Response to Early Alerts (CIPRAT), led by the Minister of the Interior, Alicia Victoria Arango Olmos, was held with the link of the director of the Victims Unit, Ramón Rodríguez.

The director participated in CIPRAT in order to evaluate the entity's actions against the Early Warning 008 of 2020, raised by the Ombudsman on situations of risk of violation of human rights and international humanitarian law in the municipalities of Apartadó, Carepa, Chigorodó and Turbo.

The Victims Unit, along with other local and government entities, which are part of the National System of Comprehensive Care and Reparation for Victims (SNARIV), monitored the actions to be taken within its competences to guarantee respect and protection of human rights in these towns on the banana axis.

Ramón Rodríguez assured that "this is the joint effort among entities to focus actions on risk prevention, above all for the young population".

"There is a need to strengthen the protective environments for young people who need the support of all entities for the proper use of free time", said the official.

In the municipality of Apartadó, where the Intersectoral Commission for the Rapid Response to Early Alerts was held, 98 families affected by the armed conflict this year were assisted in kind in response to emergencies.

Similarly, the Victims Unit has provided technical assistance of 2019 contingency plans of these 4 municipalities that make up the banana axis.
