Table of Victims of conflict in Atlantic prepares to influence Public Policy and territorial Development plans

The Victims Unit, together with the Governor of the Atlantic and the Mayor's Office of Barranquilla, provides technical assistance so that the proposals and needs of this participation body are taken into account in the development plans.

During this Monday and Tuesday in Barranquilla, the Victims Unit attends and technically trains the twenty-five members of the Departmental Table of Effective Participation of Victims of Atlántico, which prepares to influence the different scenarios contemplated by the Public Policy of Victims of conflict at the municipal, departmental and national levels.

The work day that takes place from Puerta del Sol Hotel, seeks to provide strengthening and provide technical capabilities to the victims' participation tables to improve their advocacy process before local administrations by informing them of the general lines for the formulation and construction of the development plans of the territorial entities in force 2020-2023.

The meeting installed by the Territorial Director, Alfredo Palencia, had the participation of the Atlantic Governorate, Barranquilla Mayor's Office, Regional Ombudsman Office, and the delegate for victims of the Regional Attorney General's Office.

“The Participation Tables are the clearest manifestation of the participatory democracy defined in the 1991 constitution, and the Victims Law is the public policy that complies with the Social Rule of Law”, said Alfredo Palencia, before the representatives of the different victimizing facts that make up the Departmental Bureau of Atlantic victims.

The Victims Unit wants to generate effective coordination bridges of the participation tables with territorial entities and strengthen the development of their functions, especially those established in numeral 12 of Article 8 that states: Influence policies, plans and projects for the implementation of Law 1448 of 2011.

The end of the day will be the realization of a draft proposal for territorial entities in order to link them to municipal and departmental development plans.

This assistance workshop will also be held with the new mayors, government secretaries and municipal victims links during this February 18 and 19 at the Howard Johnson Hotel to present the technical guidelines that must be taken into account for the inclusion of the Public policy of victims in each of their sectors, exclusively, attending to their powers and the responsibilities of the departmental and municipal administrations in the Public Policy of Victims.
