The Unit will accompany the 20-year commemoration of El Salado massacre
On Tuesday, February 18, an agenda built by the communities will be fulfilled, which begins at 8:00 in the morning with a walk to the cemetery, then a solemn mass and a conversation that will address what happened before, during and after the massacre.
With the presence of the director of the Victims Unit, Ramón Rodríguez, will be held this Tuesday, February 18, the acts of vindication of El Salado memory, organized by its inhabitants, in commemoration of 20 years of the massacre perpetrated by Paramilitary Groups (AUC), time in which mediation and conciliation have been a balm for the entire population.
The agenda built by the communities begins at 8:00 in the morning with a walk to the cemetery; a solemn mass and a conversation that will address what happened before, during and after the massacre. At 7:00 pm a symbolic event will be held in the main square, to claim the name of El Salado.
This rural district, located in the municipality of El Carmen de Bolívar, PDET subregion of Montes de María, advances in its individual and collective reparation thanks to the will of the communities and the commitment of the State, non-governmental organizations, private companies and International Cooperators
Since the implementation of the Comprehensive Collective Repair Plan (PIRC), led by the Victims Unit and which gives continuity to the work carried out by the National Commission for Reparation and Reconciliation (CNRR), there have been many advances.
Among the measures implemented is not only the reconstruction of the socio-economic infrastructure but the restoration of the social network.
