The Victims Unit delivered more than 1500 million pesos to victims of Catatumbo in January
The economic repair was delivered in Ocaña and benefits 95 people from one of the areas most affected by the conflict in the country.
With the delivery of 95 letters of compensation, for a value of 1,655,522,148, the Victims Unit in Norte de Santander and Arauca began this year the economic reparation to people affected by the armed conflict in the Catatumbo area.
The territorial director of the entity, Alicia María Rojas Pérez, said: “We have reached Ocaña to strengthen our institutional mission and we have delivered 95 letters of compensation to men and women from different municipalities that make up the Catatumbo area and who today come and feel the support of the national government”.
Rojas Pérez stressed the importance of knowing the guidelines established by the Victims Unit in relation to the payment of compensation: “We have an anti-fraud campaign that we constantly disseminate through the media, in our Regional Center and administrative headquarters, to inform the channels , the direct attention routes that we manage as an entity and thus prevent people from being victims of scammers who take advantage of their conditions or the ignorance they have about this process to commit fraudulent actions”.
Finally, the director emphasized that the commitment continues and that the Unit is willing to maintain compensation processes in compliance with the implementation of Law 1448 of 2011.
