Advances in victim care, at the Seminar for the safety of replacement leaders and ex-combatants

The advancement of the care, reparation and non-repetition processes for more than seven million victims in the country will be the central theme of the intervention of Ramón Rodríguez, director of the Victims Unit, during the 1st Government Seminar for the safety of replacement leaders and ex-combatants, which will be held this Wednesday in Bogotá.

The seminar that begins at 8:00 am on Wednesday at the Dann Carlton House in Bogotá (Calle 93 B No.19-44), will be chaired by the Minister of the Interior, Nancy Patricia Gutiérrez and the Counselor for Stabilization and the Consolidation, Emilio J. Archila.

During the event, the new mayors and governors of different municipalities and departments of the country will also be able to know the recent security measures implemented by the government and articulate them with the development plans of their territorial entities.

The seminar's agenda includes the presentation of offer, achievements, advances and challenges of some of the entities that have responsibilities in the implementation of the Peace Agreement and two panels on security of leaders of the replacement program and ex-combatants of the Farc.

The seminar will involve at least 21 governors and 170 mayors, from various municipalities and departments, as well as the directors and presidents of the Territory Renewal agencies (ART); Rural Development (ADR); Lands (ANT); Restitution (URT); Reincorporation and Normalization (RNA); and Replacement of Illicit Crops (PNIS), among others.

The international presence will be led by USAID's director for Colombia, Lawrence Sacks; the head of Mission of the MAPP-OAS, Roberto Menéndez; IOM Head of Mission, Ana Eugenia Durán-Salvatierra; and delegates of the United Kingdom Embassy in Colombia.
