
Victims of San José de Uré are trained in alternative communication
People members of the collective reparation subject of the municipality of San José de Uré, in Córdoba, participated in the training day on Alternative Communication’.


After three days of work, the training day on ‘alternative communication’, which was provided by the Victim Attention Unit in Córdoba, with the support of the World Bank, to victims of armed conflict ends today.
In the activities, 15 members of the collective repair subject of San José de Uré municipality were trained, with the aim of training them as community correspondents to work in the reconstruction, visibility and strengthening of this community in the south of the department of Córdoba.
The territorial director of the Victims Unit in Córdoba, Mareila Burgos, said that “it is intended that these people be leaders, so that through them they can rebuild and view the dreams of this community that has been hit hard by the armed conflict. In addition, it is intended that through the media and alternative communication those desires be made visible to keep the hope of a community at peace”.
In the activity, the participants stated, among other things, that they dream of the tranquility of being able to go to bathe in the creek of the town without fear. Liliana Ibáñez, one of the people who participated in the training, said: "I dream of a quiet municipality, free of war, of confrontations, where we have job opportunities, more health and better education".
Within the framework of the activities, attendees worked on the construction of the communicative map of the municipality of San José de Uré and were trained in journalistic genres such as the interview, the news, the chronicle and the communication councils.
On the last day of the training, participants were given a basic journalism kit and communication tools and provided training in the management of technological equipment.
