Repair Education

Universidad de Antioquia and the Victims Unit signed a 2017 Will Agreement that benefits the population affected by victimizing events. With this alliance, education, reconciliation and the formation of peace multipliers are promoted to develop projects that help to comply with the policy of integral reparation for victims.

According to Wilson Córdoba Mena, director of the Unit for Victims in Antioquia, "these alliances facilitate education as a measure of reparation so that people who suffered violence have more opportunities for life and overcome violence."

Currently, the Unit has agreements with 17 institutions of higher, technical or technological education in Antioquia, through which discounts, credits and scholarships are granted that have benefited more than five thousand students.

The victims are also prioritized with the Reparation Fund for Access, Permanence and Graduation in Higher Education for Victims of Armed Conflict in Colombia, as a result of the agreement between the Ministry of National Education, Icetex and the Unit for Comprehensive Care and Reparation to the victims.

In addition, young people benefit from the Generation E program, which is implemented by the National Government, which allows them to pursue professional, university or technological technical careers in 61 public institutions in the country.
