In San Pedro de Urabá more victims received reparation
The great majority of inhabitants of this municipality, located in the north of Urabá, are victims of armed conflict.
In the Educational Park of San Pedro de Urabá, 19 survivors of armed conflict, entirely older people, received their compensation as an opportunity to improve their quality of life.
From 10 in the morning these survivors met, some with their companions, who also found guidance on the proper investment of resources.
"I am very grateful because I had not lost hope that they would call me, yesterday they gave the answer and this is a blessing from God, I am going to invest it in a lot to make my house", said Miguel Montalvo, an elderly person compensated.
San Pedro de Urabá is one of municipalities of northern Urabá, with the greatest effects caused by the armed conflict, including forced disappearance, and homicide. In the single registry of victims, 32,381 victimized persons are reviewed.
“It is very significant for us to be able to carry out this notification day in this municipality that has been so hit by the armed conflict; these survivors have been an example of resilience and courage”, said Elizabeth Granada Ríos, Urabá-Darién territorial director of the Victims Unit.
The resources delivered, which represent more than $ 300 million, will be directed, according to the surveys that are carried out at the time of orientation, in the great majority, in purchase or arrangement of housing, in improving health, or in some cases purchase of livestock.
